Q: How did it feel to become St. Olaf’s all-time leading rebounder and a 1000 point scorer?
A: “It felt really good. I have put a lot of time and energy into the sport and the program and it was rewarding to see it all pay off. But I am nothing without my team around me. The fact that I was able to get 1000 points is a reflection of my teammates. They see and move the ball around the court really well, and I couldn’t have anything without them.”
Q: What are your thoughts on your basketball career coming to an end?
A: “Basketball is a game I’ve played for over 13 years. I’m sad knowing its almost over, but I’m extremely thankful for all the memories, the lessons I’ve learned and the people I’ve met. I’m excited for what the future has in store for me.”
Q: What are your plans for after graduation?
A: “I’m taking a gap year and will be applying to medical schools. I’m also going to Australia to present some research on performance science and stressed induced analgesia in musicians.”
Q: What has the team done to team build upon last season, improving from 3-22 to 8-17?
A: “We have been battling being a predominately young team the last couple of years, but our players really matured on the court this year. Off the court, the team dynamic has been awesome this year. We also have had some first-years come in and play big roles for our team which really helps. Overall, our team has matured, people are more seasoned on the court and we have worked really well together.”
Q: What was Senior Day like, being the program’s only senior?
A: “It was weird, I would have never thought it was going to be just me up there, there were seven of us that came in together. The ceremony was very nice though. I felt very loved and supported. I was really flattered and humbled by how many people came out and did something to make my day special.”
Q: With only a few games left, what are your goals for finishing up the season against Hamline and Augsburg?
A: “We are going to finish the season the way we started: together. We are going to go out there and play the game we love with people we care about. Regardless of the score and outcome, I know I am going to be proud about how our team finishes the season.”
