The cafeteria is what gets St. Olaf students through thick and thin. Through finals, scheduling, and even the rigor of three hour labs. No matter what class students are struggling through, they can always look toward dinner.
Recently, however, the caf has become a stressful place. Since student populations on campus have steadily grown, the caf has become increasingly packed. Last year, additional seating in the ballrooms helped to alleviate some of this strain, but now the caf is as full as ever, and the entrance line has become egregiously long at popular meal times.
Next year, we have an even more packed experience to look forward to as the campus completes construction of new dorms estimated to house an additional 300 students.
To combat the stress-inducing high populations of the caf, I believe the next addition to the St. Olaf campus needs to be another cafeteria. Who’s with me?
