The St. Olaf Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country teams had one of their first major races of the season on Saturday, Sept. 21.
While the Women’s team’s ranking fell four places and the Men’s increased by one, both teams held on to their place in the Division III Top 20, making St. Olaf cross-country the only MIAC program to hold such a high ranking in both polls.
Additionally, four of the top eight finishers in the Men’s race were Oles: Kevin Turlington ’26, Andrew Skemp ’25, Parker Max ’26, and Sean Hartney ’25. Both teams are set to run at the Running of the Cows at Carleton on Oct. 6, before traveling to UW-La Crosse and Connecticut College for invitational competitions later in October.
The MIAC Championships will once again be held at St. Olaf on Nov. 2. Based on the all-around great results of the meet on Sept. 21, I’d be willing to bet that the Oles will make it further than that, too. Go cheer them on as they hope to secure a top-three MIAC spot for the fourth consecutive year, and maybe even more!
